I’ve come to a conclusion that 99.9% of entrepreneurs have likely come to at some point in their journey, but a conclusion none the less that I’ve yet to see anyone do. The conclusion is that everyone, and I mean everyone, should be first taught how to build a list and second they should then be required to continue building that list in perpetuity. There are a number of reasons I’ve come to this conclusion, but here are just a few
I’m writing this on a Sunday and I thought it would be relevant to share as you head into your weekend. Because I’m curious if you’ve ever found it difficult to shut off? Maybe it happens for you all the time or maybe it only happens when you’re under stress. Whether that stress is positive like working on landing a big client or negative like finding yourself in a sales drought and stressing over making a sale. You find yourself thinking about it (whatever it is) at all hours of the day. When you wake up, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While spending time with colleagues and while with your family. All you can think about is it. Or you may be an entrepreneur like me, and find it hard to shut off at all.
In a moment of clarity during a family outing, my wife realized a misstep in the order of my Success Philosophy of Direction, Iteration, and Adaptation, that the correct sequence for achieving success is actually Direction, Adaptation, and then Iteration. This insight, drawn from observing the natural learning process of my daughter and reflecting on adult problem-solving, emphasizes the importance of setting a clear goal, adjusting strategies based on a gap analysis, and then implementing changes to reach the desired outcome.
Overcoming moments of hesitation, whether it's the reluctance to face the cold or the feeling of having done enough, is a common struggle that can impede our daily commitments and goals. The importance of pushing through these barriers, showcasing a personal commitment to continue writing despite feeling fulfilled for the day, and challenges readers to confront their own moments of hesitation.
Leveraging the DIA (Direct, Iterate, Adapt) framework through journaling can significantly enhance daily life by setting clear directions and facilitating continuous improvement. This approach, inspired by historical figures like Marcus Aurelius, emphasizes the importance of how we invest our time, offering a practical method for personal growth and success.
Leveraging the principles of Newton's First Law of Motion, the Direction - Iteration - Adaptation process offers a powerful framework for overcoming inertia and propelling oneself towards success by continuously deciding on, iterating towards, and adapting one's direction. This approach underscores the importance of action and adaptability in achieving goals, ensuring that individuals remain dynamic forces in their journey towards personal and professional growth.
